MERSHON -- Eulis Watkins, 78, died Aug. 11 at Bacon County Hospital.
The Gilmer County native was a longtime resident of Pierce County, a farmer and a carpenter. He was an Army veteran of World War II and received the European African Middle Eastern Service medal with three Bronze Stars. He was the widower of Mildred Julie Wilkins Watkins and was a member of Bristol Baptist Church and the Men's Sunday School Class.
SURVIVORS: five sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry C. and Linda Watkins, Donnie and Carol Watkins, Rickey and Angie Watkins and Randy and Donna Watkins, all of Mershon, and David and Audrey Watkins of Blackshear; 15 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
FUNERAL: 3 p.m. today at Bristol Baptist Church, burial in Bristol Cemetery.
