The research linking Abraham and Mary Chastain as the parents of William Chastain was shared with us by Rollo P. Stovall many years ago. Book, "CHASTAIN COUSINS" compiled by Rollo P. Stovall, July 31, 1977. Excerpt from book regarding burial of Abraham Chastain: "Abraham Chastain and his wife, Mary, are buried on the old Abraham Chastain farm, about one-quarter mile west of the old homesite. The old home place is located north of the city of Greenville, S. C., near Tigerville." Rollo gives directions to the cemetery as well as describing the rocks which mark the graves. He also states that a descendant has placed a marker at the grave site and shows a photo of that newer marker which states "Chastain Cemetery, Abraham & Mary, Joseph & Mary M., Sarah C. Garrett, About 15 Others".
