Herbert Palace Ozment, 87, of Klondike died Monday at St. Joseph's Hospital in Paris. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. today at the Church of Christ in Commerce with David Gibson officiating. Burial is in Oaklawn Cemetery in Cooper.
Born in Lebanon, Tenn. on July 24, 1911, he was the son of James Houston Ozment and Stella Ozment Cauley. He married Pearl Louise Bogan on Feb. 3, 1935 in Pecan Gap.
Mr. Ozment was a veteran of the U.S. Navy in World War II. He was a retired truck driver and he was a member of the Church of Christ in Commerce.
Surviving are a daughter, Linda Mason of Roxton; sons Herb Ozment of Ben Franklin and Eddie Ozment of Cedar Hill; a brother, Troy Cauley of Cooper; grandchildren Keith Ozment of Duncanville, Lisa Loso of Pasadena, Calif. and Tracy McQueary of Commerce and great-grandchildren, Abby McQueary of Commerce, Macy McQueary of Commerce, Alexis Ozment of Fort Worth and William Preston Ozment of Pasadena, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his wife on Dec. 28, 1985 and four brothers, Harley Ozment, Riley Ozment, Charlie Cauley and J.C. Cauley.
Pallbearers are Keith Ozment, Gary Cauley, Randy Cauley, Phil McQueary, Freddy Cauley and Greg Dillard.
