Services for Luther Martin Lovett, 93, of Lubbock were held Tuesday, Jan. 25, at 2 p.m. at the Nocona Church of Christ.
W.O. Cooper and W.H. Yeargin officiated. Interment followed at Nocona Cemetery under the direction of Scott Bros. Funeral Home.
Lovett, a retired farmer, was born June 15, 1889, In Johnson City, Texas, to the late Ambrose and Sarah Elizabeth Lovett. He married the former Queen Victoria Waldie on June 17, 1910, in Ryan Okla. and died Jan. 21, 1983, in Methodist Hospital in Lubbock.
Lovett is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Lena Partridge of Uvalde, Mrs. Ruby Mitchell of Nocona, Mrs. Vera Naylor of Lubbock, Mrs. Lois Carter of Pleasant Hill, Calif., and Mrs. Corene Williams of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; two sons, Leon Lovett of Wichita Falls and Houston Lovett of Oklahoma City, Okla.; 24 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Queen Victoria Lovett, on Feb. 25, 1957.
His grandsons served as pallbearers.
Other family survivors from the Uvalde area are: Lena Field, granddaughter; Deborah Ann Field, Mrs. Cynthia Kay Morris, Sylvia Gay Field, Sharron Lea Field, and Mrs. Nancy Victoria Kneip, Great-granddaughters; Robert Neil Morris, Katherine Ann Morris, April Mae Kneip and Sarah Marie Kneip, great-great grandchildren.
