WILLIAM CALVIN DIED SATURDAY

Funeral Conducted at Home on Hinkson Avenue at 2 This Afternoon

Wiliam Hiram Calvin, 66 years old, died Saturday at his home, 1403 Hinks on avenue. Funeral services were conducted at the home at 2 o'clock this afternoon by Rev. C. E. Lemmon, pastor of the First Christian Church, assisted by the Rev. H. P. Cheavens of Ashland. Mrs. Z. M. Strong sang.

Mr. Calvin is survived by his widow, Mrs. Hattie Sapp Calvin, and six children; Mrs. Paul Maxwell of Huntsdale; Mrs. E. O. Peed of Kansas City; Mrs. J. Kenneth Old and Mrs. Paul Allen of Columbia; Aubra Calvin of Kansas City and Fred Calvin of Kansas City; seven grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. W.L. Blackburn, of Isabelle, Mo., also survive.

Deceased married Miss Hattie Sapp, February 22, 1904. Most of his life since his marriage, was spent in Ashland, where his family was reared. He moved to Kansas City in 1911 and after a residence there moved to Columbia where he has since resided. He was a well known hardware and implement merchant of Boone county for many years. Mr. Calvin joined the church in early manhood and has been a consistent member of the church. He was a man of high ideals and his honesty sincerity and loyalty were his universally well-known qualities.

His grandfather was Capt. James Callaway for whom Callaway county was named.

Active pallbearers were: Dr. D. Calvin, A. W. Sapp, G. B. Sapp, W. H. Sapp, Frank Gabelsberger, Earl Blackburn. Honorary pallbearers were: Edwin Nichols, George Hall, O. T. Scott, William Hall, Williard Sapp, — Sapp and Thad B. Hickman.

William Hiram Calvin, 66, died at his home in Columbia last Saturday night at 9 o'clock. News of his death was learned with sincere regret by his many friends here, his former home. Funeral services, conducted by the Rev. C. E. Lemmon, were held at the home at 2 o'clock last Monday afternoon. Pallbearers were Dr. D. B. Calvin, A. W. Sapp, G. B. Sapp, Wood Sapp, Frank Gablesberg and Earl Blackburn. Honorary pallbearers: Edwin Nichols, Geo. S. Hall,O, T. Scott, W. P. Hall, William D. Sapp, Gay Sapp and Thad Hickman.

William H. Calvin was born in Callaway county, which county was named after his grandfather, Capt. James Callaway, [this is incorrect, his grandfather was Joseph P. Callaway] February 14, 1866. He married Miss Hattie Sapp of Ashland, Feb. 22, 1891, and located here, engaging in the hardware and implement business. In 1911 he moved to Kansas City and from there to Columbia. He is survived by his wife, four daughters and two sons. The daughters are: Mrs. Paul Maxwell, Mrs. Kenneth Old, Mrs. Otto Pead and Mrs. Paul Allen. The sons: Aubrey and Fred Calvin, who live in Kansas City.

William Hiram Calvin, 66 years old, 1403 Hinkson Avenue, died at his home Saturday night at 9 o'clock.

Mr. Cavin was born Feb. 14, 1866 in Callaway County, Missouri, which was named after his grandfather, Capt. James Callaway. He married Hattie Sapp on Feb. 22, 1891, and settled in Ashland, Mo. In 1911 he moved to Kansas City and then to Columbia.

Funeral services were held at the family home at 2 o'clock this afternoon. Rev. C. E. Lemmon of the Christian Church and mRev. H. . Cheavens of Ashland officiated.

Mrs. Z. M. Strong sang "Beulah Land" and "God Will Take Care of You." Pallbearers were Dr. D. B. Calvin, A. W. Sapp, G. B. Sapp, Wood Sapp, Frank Gabelsberg, and Earl Blackburn. Honorary palbearers were Edwin Nichols, George Hall, O. T. Scott, Wilard Hall, William Sapp, Thad Hickman and Gay Sapp.
