Audie Salmon Thompson, age 95, formerly of Woodbridge, Va. went home to be with the Lord Thursday, December 30, 2010 at her home in Atlanta, Ga. Born in Chase City, Va., the daughter of the late Willie R. Salmon and Lula Wilson Salmon, she grew up in Littleton, N.C. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Clyde L. Thompson; her sisters, Ola S. Sudduth; Beula S. Lynch, Verla S. Jenkins and Marie S. Pair and her brother, Grover Salmon.
She is survived by her son Gregory C. Thompson and his wife Kathryn Thompson of Atlanta, Ga.; her grandchildren, Gregory C. Thompson, Jr. and his wife, Brandy Thompson of Charlotte, N.C. and Kyle M. Thompson of Waltham, Mass.
Wrenn, Clarke & Hagan Funeral and Cremation Service Home in Roanoke Rapids, N.C. is handling the arrangements, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 8 in the chapel with Pastor Rob Hrabak officiating. Burial will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home January 7th from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
