Sally (nee Young) Bridges died Jan. 15, 2002, in Martinez, California, after a long battle with cancer. She was born June 6, 1927, to Dr. Val and Virginia (nee Virchow) Young. She attended West Aurora schools, graduated from Ferry Hall Prep School in Lake Forest, attended Carleton College in Minnesota, and graduated from the University of Missouri with a B.A. in liberal arts. She was a member of Gamma Phi Beta Sorority and was one of the first Zephyrettes on the California Zephyr.
Surviving are: a sister, Cynthia (Gordon) Leach of Aurora; two nieces, Virginia (Peter) Mathews of Minnetonka, MN., and Sara Leach of Aurora; one nephew, Andrew (Laurie) Leach of Homer, NY; two great nieces, Amy Mathews and Erin Leach, and a special cousin, John (Joan) VanDolah of Ventura, CA.
A memorial service will be held later at St. David's Episcopal Church.
If desired, memorial donations may be made in Mrs. Bridge's name to St. David's Church, 701 N. Randall Rd., Aurora, IL. 60506.
