Bonnie A. Travis, 91, of West Helena, Arkansas passed away Thursday, January 6, 2011 in Helena, Arkansas. Bonnie was born April 7, 1919 in Blytheville, Arkansas to the late William Augustus and Ethal Mae Rowland Jackson. She was a homemaker and member of the Assembly of God Church in West Helena.

She is survived by a son, Lannie Travis (Delia K.) of West Helena; two daughters, Theda J. Bennett (Jim) of Springfield, Missouri and Lisa G. Tharp (Mike) of West Helena; seven grandchildren, Jerri Anderson, Joey Travis, Dave Bennett, Chris Bennett, Ben Bennett, Michael Tharp and Matthew Tharp; eleven great-grandchildren, Leah Kathryn Anderson, Anna, Abby and Cole Travis, Anne Christine, Jimmy, Travis, Jon, Kate, Ethan and Alice Bennett; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was also blessed with excellent caregivers, Dorothy Moore, Elizabeth Davis, and all the staff at Crestpark Skilled Nursing Home.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, and two brothers.

Graveside services for Bonnie Travis will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, January 8, 2011 at Sunset Memorial Park in West Helena. Dr. Jim Bennett will officiate.

Pallbearers are Ben Bennett, Matthew Tharp, Michael Tharp, Chris Bennett, Dave Bennett, and Joey Travis.

Memorials may be made to the General Council of the Assemblies of God, 1445 North Boonville Avenue, Springfield, Missouri 65802. Please designate the memorial is for Global Initiative.
