Dorothy P. Evans, 88, of Columbus, died at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 22,2006, at Columbus Regional Hospital.
Mrs. Evans was a 1953 graduate of Edinburgh High Scholl and was a trust officer at Irwin Union Bank for many years. She was a member of First Christina Church and Victory Sunday school classes, had been secretary of National Women Bankers Association and was a member of Business and Professional Women's Association.
She had played violin with Columbus Symphony Orchestra, was an avid IU fan and enjoyed bowling, golfing, playing bridge, reading and working crossword puzzles.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Myers-Reed Dignity Memorial Chapel on 25th Street with Dan LeClerc officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
Born in Bartholomew County Oct. 13, 1917, Mrs. Evans was the daughter of Albert Patrick and Zora L. Stuckey Hickey. She married Robert S. Evans in 1935 in Bartholomew County.
Survivors include a son, Don (C Ann) Evans of Fort Wayne; a daughter, Pat (Jack) Rich Tepe of Columbus; sisters Jean Harrell and Wilma Huffman, both of Columbus; a brother-in-law, Damous Evans of Columbus; grandchildren, Mark (Darja) Rich of Dallas, Texas, Davie (Roseann) Rich, of Plano, Texas, Dan (Laura) Rich, of Normal, Ill., matt (Amy) Rich of Atlanta, Wendy Evans and Chad (Michelle) Evans, both of Fort Wayne; great-grandchildren, Jennifer and Mary Rich of Plano, Texas, Ashley Rich of Dallas, Kate, Aidan and Alexandria Rich, all of Normal, Ill., Micha and Elijah Rich, both of Atlanta, and Maggie Evans of Fort Wayne; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband on Nov. 14, 1046, and a son-in-law, Joe Rich.
