Avis Ward, 98, widow of Frederick V. Ward, passed away at St. Francis Hospital on Wednesday, January 5, 2011. Besides her two sons, Frederick V. Ward Jr. and William R. Ward, she leaves 9 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. She also leaves many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Ward was a former teacher at St. Anne School. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday January 7, at St. Anne Catholic Church, located at 670 S. Highland Memphis. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday January 8, also at St. Anne Catholic Church with interment to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family requests that memorials be sent to St. Anne School at 670 South Highland, Memphis, TN 38111.
