Eunice Lorain Stephens Higginbotham (1910-2003) WV
Eunice L. Stephens Higginbotham, 93, of Nitro died Nov. 2, 2003, in Riverside Nursing Home, St. Albans, after a long illness.
Eunice was preceded in death by her parents, Emory and Flora Stollings Stephens; her husband, B.L. "Pod" Higginbotham; and great-grandson, Eric Higginbotham.
Mrs. Higginbotham was a lifelong resident of Nitro and a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Nitro, where she was also a member of the Women's Circle of the church.
She was owner of Eunice's Kiddieland, Nitro, and a former clerk for Cox's Department Store, Nitro.
Surviving are sons and their wives, Bobby Lee and Eileen Higginbotham of Knoxville, Tenn., James D. and Gloria Jean Higginbotham of Cross Lanes; four grandchildren, Robert Lee Higginbotham, Vicky Higginbotham Grey, Debbie Higginbotham King and Jan Higginbotham Gandee; 12 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.
Service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4, at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Nitro, with the Rev. Tom McDowell officiating. Burial will follow in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Cooke Funeral Home, Nitro, and one hour prior to service at the church.
