Raymond E. Garrett, 86, Kansas City, KS, died Wednesday, July 27, 2005 at his home. Funeral Services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, July 30, at the Porter Funeral Home, 1835 Minnesota Ave. Kansas City, KS. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 9:30 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Saturday at the funeral home.
Mr. Garrett was born August 21, 1918, in Kansas City, KS and was a lifelong resident of the city. He was a graduate of Washington High School and an Army Veteran of World War II. Raymond was employed with the Missouri Pacific Railroad for over 30 years and retired as an Engineer. He was a member of Stony Point Baptist Church; and the Golden Age Senior's Group,. Raymond's wife Georgia preceded him in death in 1992. Survivors include his four children Nancy McDill and husband Mac, William Garrett and wife Beverly, Doris Frentrop and husband Wes, Debra Hancock and husband Kenneth; two sisters Dorothy Fleming, and Doris Mindedahl; his brother Harold Dean Garrett; longtime friend, Vi Pike; 10 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and 5 step-great grandchildren.
