Funeral services for Mr. Kenneth Alan Cross, Sr. will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 8, 2011 in Mount Hope Baptist Church, Oakdale with the Reverends Kenny Blackwell, Hardy Estes and Danny Perry officiating. Interment will follow in Oakdale Cemetery under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale.
Mr. Cross, 78, of Oakdale entered eternal rest on Thursday, January 6, 2011 in his residence with his family near his side.
Kenneth was a graduate of Oakdale High School and received his Bachelor of Science degree from S.L.I. He was a member of Mt. Hope Baptist Church, a United States Army Veteran and an integral part of the McDonald's Morning Coffee Club. He was a loving husband, son, father and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by one son, Kenny Cross; his parents, E. E. Cross, Sr. and Hazel Cross and two brothers, Terry Cross and E. E. "Bubba" Cross, Jr.
Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory include his loving wife of fifty-four years, Margaret Cross of Oakdale; one son, Art Cross and his wife, Monique of Oakdale; one daughter, Caryn Droddy and her husband, Clifton of Ulysses, Kansas; one daughter-in-law, Delores Cross of Oakdale; one sister, Frances Hicks of Irving, Texas; eight grandchildren, Chiara Cross and her husband, Dustin, Ashly Strother and her husband, Jeffrey, Terry Cross, Melissa Cross, Kelli Droddy, Travis Cross, Michelle Cross and Matthew Droddy and three great grandchildren, Noah Villali, Colt Crawford and Emeri Strother.
