Floyd was born to Frank and Nellie Mae (Graves) Huber on May 4, 1931, in Greencastle, IN. He lived and attended school in Greencastle until his early 20's.
Floyd was employed at various jobs including: welding, concrete work, carpentry and plumbing.
In 1968, while working in Idaho he met and married Jean Prather. Two daughters were born to them; Joy Ellen (David) Nogowski and Jana Kay Huber, who died in infancy. Two sons, Dale and Richard of Greencastle, IN and Sandra Huber Bandy (deceased) were his children from a previous marriage.
Floyd and Jean purchased a small house in Argusville, ND, where they lived for 30 years. In 1998, Floyd suffered a stroke and was moved to Villa Maria Nursing Home, Fargo, ND, and later to the Good Samaritan Center in Arthur, where he remained until his death.
His main interests were country music (he played the guitar), wood working, drawing cartoons, gardening, traveling, collecting trains and antiques and reading.
He is survived by his wife, Jean, Arthur; daughter, Joy and her husband, Hunter, ND; sons, Dale and Richard; sisters, Helen William and Beatrice O'Connor, all Indiana; five grandsons, one granddaughter and several extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, two daughters, four brothers and other extended family members.
Funeral Service: Friday, January 7, 2011 at 2 in the Arthur United Methodist Church, with visitation one hour prior.
Burial: Argusville (ND) Cemetery.
