Mrs. W.H.H. Baker

Janie O'Dell was born in Carroll County, Mo., Jan. 26, 1859, and was married to W.H.H. Baker September 25, 1873. To this union 8 children were born, all living except Mrs. Roma Phillips, who preceded her mother January 6 of this year. Mr. Baker died a few years ago.

The children living are: Mrs. Ida Baker of Platte City, Rutherford Baker of Kansas City, Mo.; Harry Baker of Platte City,; John Baker of East Leavenworth; Tom Baker of Kansas City, Kansas; Mrs. Katie Cecil of East Leavenworth and Richard of the home.

She united with the M.E. Church in her girlhood in Carrolton, Mo., and later moved her membership to Platte City where it remained until her death. She was the youngest child of a family of four children all of whom have preceded her. Besides her seven living children, she leaves 12 grandchildren and one great grandchild, and a host of friends and neighbors. She had lived on the farm where she died for 45 years and in Platte County for 53 years. She passed away after a brief illness, January 11, 1926, at the age of 66 years,11 months and 15 days.

The funeral was held at the Methodist Church in Platte City conducted by Rev. J.R. Blevins. Interment in Riverview cemetery under direction of L.F. Rollins. Her name was omitted from the tombstone but family who attended the funeral verify that she is buried next to W.H.H. Baker
