Mary P. Bustos, age 91, passed away November 16, 2009 in Raton. She was born April 18, 1918 in Taylor Springs, New Mexico the daughter of Estevan and Socorro Martinez Trujillo. She was preceded in death by her husbands Blaise S. Gurule and Gilbert S. Bustos. She is also preceded by, brothers Steve Trujillo Jr. Secundino Trujillo, Henry Leo Trujillo, and sister Eloisa Pacheco. She is survived by 8 daughters and 2 sons from her first marriage to Blaise S. Gurule, Bertha Tafoya of Raton, NM, Joe Bustos (Gurule) of Raton, NM. Rose Galvan of California, Gloria Trujillo of California, Steve Gurule of Washington, Mary Alameida of Raton, NM, Christina Gurule of Maryland, Eva Korey of California, Becky Cordero of California, and Jessica Romero of California. She is also survived by her 2 daughters of her second marriage to Gilbert S. Bustos, daughter Lucille Sanchez, grandchildren Robert Romero and Valerie Marquez and great-grandchildren Ariel and Gabriel Romero; and daughter Virginia Martinez and grandchildren Jason and Jessica Martinez, numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren. Mary was a member of the VFW Women's Auxiliary, and a Senior Companion. Mary loved to cook for weddings and the VFW. She will be missed greatly by her son Joe Bustos Gurule, wife Brenda, granddaughter Kayce, grandson Anthony and her daughter Bertha Tafoya, grandson Carlos, granddaughters Dawn and Gary Sr., great-grandson Gary Jr., and granddaughter Lupe and husband Gabe, great grandchild Johnathan, and special friend Gilbert Chano Vigil of Raton. She will be missed by all, her laugh her smile, she was loved by everyone, and everyone loved her. Cremation has taken place and funeral services will be held at a later date.
