Commonwealth Reporter, Mon. May 20, 1957, p. 18:4. Mrs. Abler, 81, Expires; Rites At Mt. Calvary. Catholic Home Resident Dies In Hospital; Live Life In County. Mrs. Christine Mary Abler, 81, widow of Phillip Abler, a resident of the Catholic Home for the Aged, died at 9:55 a.m. today at St. Agnes hospital where she had been a patient the last few weeks. Prior to becoming a resident of the home, Mrs. Abler lived with her sister, the late Mrs. J.M. Baasen, Mt. Calvary, until the latter's death a number of years ago. Mrs. Abler was born June 9, 1875, at Mt. Calvary, the daughter of William and Margaret Enders Stollenwerk. She was a member of the Christian Mothers society, of the Third Order of St. Francis, and of the Purgatorial society of Holy Cross church, Mt. Calvary. Surviving are neices and nephews. Mr. Abler died in 1935. The body of Mrs. Abler will be in state at the Zacherl Funeral home after 2 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral services will be held there at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday and at 10 a.m. at Holy Cross church. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Funeral services for Mrs. Christine Mary Abler, who died Monday, were held today at 9:30 a.m. at the Zacherl Funeral home and at 10 a.m. at Holy Cross church, Mt. Calvary. Burial was in the church cemetery. A solemn requiem mass was celebrated by the Rev. Casper Stollenwerk, O.F.M. Cap., assisted by the Rev. George Hensler, O.F.M. Cap., as deacon and the Rev. Cornelius Vanden Borne, Kimberly, as subdeacon. Honorary pallbearers were Mmes. Leonard Peters, Leo Wagner, Arthur Vogd, Frank Holzman, Arthur Schmidbauer, Al Bittner and Richard Abler. Active pallbearers were Alfred and Walter Stollenwerk, Lavern Huberty, Clem and Vernon Abler, and Tony May. Out-of-town persons in attendance were from Chicago, Milwaukee, Pewaukee, and nearby towns. The Christian Mothers society and the Third Order of St. Francis attended the services.
