Helyn E. Pine, 85, Altoona, died Tues., Jan. 4, 2011 morning at Altoona Hospital. She was born in Altoona to John R. & Ada (Croft) Johnsonbaugh. She married David Robert P. Pine on Aug. 20, 1947, at Bethany Lutheran Church, Altoona and he died Feb. 3, 2000. Survived by daughters: Marsha D. Kennedy & husband, Burt, of Pittsburgh and Myschel R. Maurer & husband, John, of Altoona, with whom she resided; grandson, Garet D. Lenning; step granddaughter, Deanna DiCola; step grandsons: Douglas Kennedy and Michael Maurer; 4 step gr. grandchildren; brothers: Robert Johnsonbaugh and J.W. Johnsonbaugh; and sisters: Eleanor Hewitt, Drue Detwiler and Marti Koch. Predeceased by sister, Denise Johnsonbaugh. Helyn was a 1945 graduate of Altoona High School and attended the Altoona Hospital School of Nursing. She retired as a nurse's aide from Mercy Hospital after 30 years of service. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, Altoona. Helyn enjoyed sewing and crafts and was famous for her crocheted Easter eggs. Myers-Somers Funeral Home, Altoona.
