Son of John King and Mary Claywell King. Husband of Susannah Hale Faulkner King; father of John Richard "Johnnie" King, William Claywell King, Robert King, Mary S. King, James Sidney King, Peter William King, and Lousia Rebecca King. Grandfather of Robert Iredell King. His death certificate states he was a Merchant. He was the Sheriff of Greene County, MO 1857-1858.

Many sympathizing friends and neighbors attended the funeral of P. C. King which occurred from the family residence, 607 East Main street, at 2:30 yesterday afternoon. The service was conducted by the Rev. T.S. Wheeler, pastor of the M.E. Church*, south, of which deceased was a member. Complying with the expressed wishes of the deceased the body was attired in white and reposed in a beautiful white casket. A white hearse was also used. The services at the cemetery were conducted by the Woodmen of the World and neighbors K.S. Purdy, J. F. Smith, Chas. Fox, A.F. Hollenbaeck, W.E. Miller and R. W. Robinson, acted as pallbearers.
