John W. Burd, 56, of 527 North Second Street, Wormleysburg, a Spanish-American War veteran and passenger engineman on the Middle Division of the Pennsylvania Railroad, died yesterday in the American Naval Hospital, Philadelphia.

He was a member of Camp No. 8, of the United Spanish War Veterans.

In addition to his widow, Mrs. Mary E. BUrd, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. William S. Pike and Mrs. George F. Miley, both of Wormleysburg; two sons, Kenneth G., Wormleysburg, and David S. Burd, Harrisburg; two sisters, Mrs. Herbert Parthemore, Riverside, and Mrs. Wilbur Bortel, Philadelphia; two half brothers, Walter J. Moore and G. Edwin Moore, both of Harrisburg.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Charles C. Baker Funeral Parlors, Third and Maclay Streets. The Rev. John J. Weaver, retired Lutheran minister, of Penbrook, will officiate. Burial will be in the Rolling Green Cemetery. The body may be viewed at the funeral parlors after 7 o'clock on Friday evening.

Members of Camp No. 8, of the United Spanish War Veterans, will attend the services Saturday in a body.
