Rev. A. H. Boozer 0f Page County, SHENANDOAH

Funeral services for the Rev. Allen Hayne Boozer, 57, pastor of St. Pauls Lutheran Church at Grove Hill and St. Lukes at Alma, were held
Sunday afternoon from St. Pauls Church.

Officiating were Dr. Luther Mauine; of Roanoke; Dr. W.E. Eisenberg, Winchester, and Rev. Luke L. Linebarger, of Shenandoah,

Rev. Mr. Boozer who moved to Page County in 1955 from Stephens
City, died at 5 a. m. Saturday in Rockingham Memorial Hospital.

He suffered a heart attack Thursday. He had a heart condition
for some time. The Lutheran minister was active in community life in addition to his participation in countywide religious activites. He was president of the Page County Ministerial Assn., the Page County
Council of Churches, and a past president of the Shenandoah Ministerial Assn. He was a charter member of the Grove Hill Newport Ruritan Club and a member of the Shenandoah Lions Club.

He had been a member of Lions Clubs for 32 years.

Funeral services were completed at the Colony Lutheran Church, Newberry, S.C. Monday with Dr. W. A. Dunlap, president of the Lutheran Synod of South Carolina, in charge.

Burial was in the Colony cemetery.

The active pallbearers at Grove Hill were Ralph Keyser, Melvin Miller, Carroll Cave, Donald Shuler, Forest Courtney and Page Follz.

Honorary pallbearers were members of the Ruritan and Lions clubs.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Gertrude Gillespie Boozer; a daughter Miss Annabelle Boozer, a sophomore at the College of William and Mary; a son, Allen H. Boozer, at home, and a sister, Mrs. W. A, Rhodes of Deland, Fla.

Rev. Mr. Boozer and family resided in the parsonage at Grove Hill.

He was a son of Allen Rhett and Belle Dominick Boozer and was born at Newberry, S.C.

He was a graduate of Newberry College and the Lutheran Seminary
at Columbia, S.C. Rev. Mr. Boozer served as pastor at Orangeburg, S.C , for 17 years before moving to Stephens City. He served
seven years there before coming to Page county in June 1955.
