George Washington White moved to Texas in 1877 settling first in Wise County, Texas. He married Miss Mary Faulkner in 1882 in Decatur, Texas. The couple moved to Colorado City, Texas in 1903 and organized a number of Baptist churches over West Texas including Loraine Baptist Church. He organized the Baptist Church in Roscoe in 1907. When his health began to fail, he was not active in the ministry after 1923. He had been a member of the Masonic order since 1890. Survivors include his wife; five daughters - Mrs. J.W. Howell, Mrs. Jean Fuller, Mrs. Ola O'Donnell, Mrs. C.R. Syler, Mrs. C.W. Popnoe; three sons - A.C. White, C.K. White, John A. White; 20 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
