She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late John and Cora (Painter) Imler. She married Peter Bonanno, and he passed away Feb. 11, 1999.
Surviving are a daughter, Sherry A. Alwine (Terry) of Altoona; two sons: Daniel P. and David A. (Melissa), both of Altoona; eight grandchildren: Jared, Brooke, Nicole, Kelsey, Hannah, Hailey, Evan and Kira; a brother, Lowell Imler (Charlotte); and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by four brothers: Donald, John, Charles and Daniel; and a sister, Irene.
Diane was a graduate of Altoona High School, and she worked at Gable's Department Store and Town and Country. She was a member of a German band and the Altoona Area High School Music Parents Association.
She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, having special parties for all of the children in her life, being actively involved in her children's music and volunteering countless hours for the Music Parents Association. She enjoyed all the holidays and decorating for them.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 2, 2011, at the Santella Funeral Home (www.santellafuneralhome.com), where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 3, 2011, by Chaplin Tony Conrad. Committal will be held at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.
