Mary K, Ely, wife of James H. Ely and member of a prominent Greene County family, died at 4 p.m. Saturday, July 19, 1952, in Greene County Memorial Hospital after a protracted illness.
A lifelong resident of Waynesburg, she was a daughter of the late James R. and Matilda Scott Throckmorton and was a lifelong member of the First Methodist Church of Waynesburg. She was also a member of the W.S.C.S. and the Daughters of Ruth Sunday School Class of that church, and of Lady Greene Rebekah Lodge No. 385 of Waynesburg. Mrs. Ely was employed for several years as a bookkeeper in the First National Bank & Trust Company.
She was married December 30, 1915 to James H. Ely of Waynesburg, who survives with one daughter, Harriett, wife of John L. Sullivan, of Atlanta, Ga.; two grandchildren, Larry and Jerry; one sister, Mrs. W. C. Hutchins of Irwin, and three nephews.
