She was born March 9, 1924, in Cleveland.

She was employed at Century Tel as a computer operator. She had also worked at Cleveland Trust Bank.

She was a member of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, Lorain, Daughters of Penelope, Quota Club, Gus' Volcanoes and Ladies Dart League.

She enjoyed bowling and was a member of the Lorain Women's Bowling Association since 1948. She had participated in the Lorain Women's Association's League and Tournament Play for 55 years. She also enjoyed the game of ten pins. She had received the 1999-2000 Mark Stewart Pioneer of Bowling Award from the association. She also enjoyed golfing, playing darts, crocheting and traveling.

Survivors include her daughters Donna Markou of Sheffield Village, Joanne Jones of Findlay and Debbie Byar of Grand Rapids, Mich.; brother George Kapantas of Chicago; sister Dorothy Kuhar of Cleveland; and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, George, in 1974; brother Tom Kapantas; and sisters Sylvia Paul and Irene Kapantas.

Friends may call Monday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., in Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., with a Trisayion service will be at 7:30 p.m. Friends may also call Tuesday from 10:30 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. in St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 2000 Tower Blvd., Lorain, with the Rev. Michael Gulgas, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain.
