He was the son of Harry and Iva (Hellyer) Secrest.

He had brothers, (Samuel Secrest birth 1918, Find A Grave Memorial# 5528366), and twin brother, Russell Secrest birth 1922, and sisters, Dorothy Secrest birth 1913, Ollie (Russell) Odle, Emma J (Eugene) Earnest.

Ralph E. Secrest, 75, 1408 E. 62nd St., died at 9 p.m. Friday in his home.

Mr. Secrest was born in Marion and was a longtime resident of Grant County. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He married Doris Simons on Mar. 23, 1947. He retired in 1987 as a forklift operator from Bell Fibre after 47 years. He was a member of the First Church of God.

Survivors include his wife; two sons John (Cathie), of Marietta, GA., and David, of Marion; two daughters, Maria (Mrs. John) Porterfield, of Marion, and April (Mrs. Monte) Mathews, of Clinton, IL.; a brother Russell (Betty), of Marion; two sisters, Jane Earnest, of Marion, and Ivadell (Mrs. King) Baker, of Marion; and 13 grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Needham-Storey Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City, with the Rev. Bill Fulda officiating, Burial will be in Matthews Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
