Martin David Warren Sr., 72, of 11696 Utopia Road, Owensboro, died Saturday, Dec. 27, 2003, at Owensboro Medical Health System. He was born Nov. 20, 1931, in Daviess County. He was employed at Big Independent Tobacco Warehouse and was a farmer. He was a former Daviess County commissioner and served four terms. He worked at W.R. Grace for many years and was an Air Force veteran. He was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church and a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus, Father Connor Council No. 6101. He was a member of Daviess County Lions Club and VFW Post No. 696. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Cindy Bickett, in 2002; his parents, John Felix and Camilla Beaven Warren; a sister, Gladys Bell, in 1998; a sister, Martine Calhoun Dare, in 2002; and a brother, John Maxwell Warren, in 1999. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Rose Smith Warren; two sons and daughters-in-law, Martin David and Martha Murphy Warren Jr. and John Bernard and Diana Keller Warren, all of St. Joseph; three daughters and a son-in-law, Stephanie Warren of Floyd Knob, Ind., Tamara Warren of Curdsville and Melanie and Dean Ewing of Jasper, Ind.; grandchildren, Clinton, Brice and Wyatt Bickett, Lauren, Catie, Claire, Rachel and Emily Warren, John David, Nathaniel and Camille Warren and Trace, Taylor and Natalie Ewing; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Huston Warren of St. Joseph and Leroy Warren of Louisville; and a sister, Joyce Warren of West Louisville. Services are at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 30, at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Haley-McGinnis & Owensboro Funeral Home. Prayers will be said at 6:30 p.m. today at the funeral home. Inurnment will be in St. Alphonsus Cemetery in St. Joseph.
