REUBEN MATTHEWS - Age 70 years, of Lemont Furnace, died suddenly Friday, December 19, 1969 at 3 am in the Uniontown Hospital. The son of the late William H and Josephine BAKER MATTHEWS, he was born in Dunbar Twp, November 3, 1899. A retired clay miner, he was employed with the Eureka Fire Brick Company. Surviving are his wife Martha Alma WOLFORD MATTHEWS; a son, William C of Lemont Furnace; three daughters, Mrs Charles (Mildred) LOWRY of Taylor Mich., Mrs Ernest (Sadie) WADSWORTH of Lemont Furnace, and Mrs Elwood (Mary) SHOW of Uniontown; nineteen grandchildren; three great grandchildren; a brother William Herbert of Lemont Furnace; and a sister, Miss Ida Belle MATTHEWS of Lemont Furnace. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased in death by his first wife, Olive FULLEM MATTHEWS; a son, Reuben Lee; two brothers, George and Walter; and a sister, Mrs Mary MOYER. Friends will be received in the Burhans Funeral Home, Dunbar. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2 pm in the Pillar of Fire Church, Mt Braddock with Rev William TRIMBLE officiating. Interment will be in Percy Cemetery.
