George J. Carpenter

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday for George J. Carpenter, 61 of 3939 S. Clinton St., who died at 10:45 p.m. Monday at Parkview Memorial Hospital, where he had been a patient three days.

He drove a cab for the Safety Cab Co. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the Taylor Chapel Methodist Church, American Legion Post 47 and Teamsters Union Local 414.

Surviving are his wife, Ruth S.; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Irene Miller, Fort Wayne; a stepson, Keith Miller, Arcola: six brothers, Charles, Fort Wayne, Cloid, Delphos, Ohio, Adam, Lafayette, NY, Paul, Eugene and Robert, Fort Wayne; five sisters, Mrs. Lester Long, Mrs. Cecil George and Mrs. Jesse Hake, all of Cleveland, Ohio, Mrs. Jesse Allison, Berrin Springs, Md., and Mrs. Robert Dorsett, Ft Wayne; and nine grandchildren.

The Rev. Charles Rutherford will conduct services at the Taylor Chapel Church and burial will be in Leo Cemetery. Friends may call at D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Home.
