Dorothy (Dot) Rose Bledsoe of Sweetwater peacefully went to her heavenly home the Jan. 3, at Sweetwater Hospital. A devoted wife and mother, Dot was born and raised in Sweetwater. She married Carl E. Bledsoe of Philadelphia on Oct. 23, 1943 and they had one daughter, Lydia Jane (Susie) Bledsoe. Dot retired from the McMinn County School System as a bookkeeper. She was a dedicated member of the Athens Pilot Club International, and a member of First Baptist Church, Sweetwater, where she was still an active member of the Missions and Ministry (M&M's) ladies organization. Touching a lot of lives and a consummate hostess to the very last moment, Dot spent her life ensuring that others were taken care of. She will be dearly missed by her many friends and family.

She was 86.

Preceded in death by: husband, Carl E. Bledsoe; parents, Clarence M. and Liddie King Rose; brother and sister-in-law, Columbus Eugene (Bub) and Nina Rose; and sister and brother-in-law, Lillian Rose and Roy Galyon; and sister, Naomi Ruth (Snookie) Bilderback.
