OBITUARY :
MRS. PEGGY J. (WASHABAUGH) BONNER, 79, a resident of Menno Haven Retirement Community, Chambersburg, and formerly of 95 Hamilton Road, Chambersburg, died Sunday morning, January 2, 2011, in the nursing home.

Born May 14, 1931 in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of the late Herbert H. and Margaret (Spahr) Washabaugh.

She and her husband, the late Charles Martin Bonner, were married on May 28, 1972 in Chambersburg.

Mrs. Bonner owned and operated Edmondson's Luncheonette in Chambersburg until 1966. She also worked at the former Stanley Company for a number of years.

She was a member of Corpus Christi Church, Chambersburg.

She is survived by four children, Donna Zeis and her husband Gene of Chambersburg, Gary Edmondson and his wife Ginger of Chambersburg, Michael Edmondson, Sr. and his wife Pam of Raleigh, NC, and Rodney Edmondson of Port St. John, FL; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 4 great—great-grandchildren; five sisters, Doris Becker of Newark, DE, Mona Etter of Chambersburg, Sister Karen Washabaugh of Glyndon, MD, Debbie Carmack of Chambersburg, and Sandy DeShong of Chambersburg; three brothers, Donald Washabaugh of Palm Bay, FL, Richard Washabaugh of Chambersburg, and Bernard Washabaugh of Chambersburg; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Lynn Dovey and Susan Washabaugh; and three brothers, Ted Washabaugh, Edward Washabaugh, and James Washabaugh.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, January 6, 2011, in Corpus Christi Catholic Church, with Fr. Keith Carroll, officiating. Burial will follow in Quincy Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Wednesday evening, in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: The American Lung Association. 3001 Gettysburg Road, Camp Hill, PA, 17011.
