Rev. W.A. Mays Dies At Home

Rev. W.A. Mays, 75, who for more than 50 years was a minister of the North Alabama Methodist Conference, and former pastor of Austinville Methodist Church, died at 7:15 Friday night at his home in Bessemer.

Funeral services will be conducted at 9:30 Sunday morning at Jonesboro Chapel and the body will arrive in Decatur Sunday afternoon with concluding rites to be held at 2:30 at City Cemetery with Rev. Lambuth Archibald, pastor of Central Methodist Church, in charge. Brown will direct burial.

Rev. Mays is survived by his widow: three daughters, Mrs. J.L. Williams, Athens route 3; Mrs. P.H. Montgomery, Vincent; Miss Elizabet Mays, Bessemer; three sons, D.E. Mays, Fort Jackson, South Carolina; J.M.Mays, Brewton; W.A. Mays Jr, of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; a brother, W.E. Mays, of Dallas, Texas.
