O'Neal Smith Foglesong, 93, of Bentonville, Virginia, and formerly of Front Royal, went to be with the Lord and loved ones on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at the Winchester Medical Center.
She was a resident of Hidden Springs Senior Living for a number of years.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 18, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Front Royal United Methodist Church conducted by the Rev. Alan Combs. Burial will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery in Front Royal.
Mrs. Foglesong was born July 15, 1923 in Front Royal, VA, daughter of Arthur Rixie and Lina Soules Smith.
She was a member of the Front Royal United Methodist Church for 75 years and a longtime greeter. She was a member of the Warren County High School Class of 1941. She enjoyed playing bridge, dancing, and taking care of her home.
She was married to the late Stewart W. Foglesong.
Surviving are her daughter, Sherry von Oeyen of Staunton and her husband Robert; two sisters, Jeannette Brent and Joan Ascencio; three grandchildren, Jessica Foglesong, Barry Stewart Foglesong, and Hannah Altman and her husband Scott; a special niece, Lorraine Hultquist; a special daughter-in-law, Donna McInturff; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is predeceased by two sons, Barry S. Foglesong and Wayne R. Foglesong.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 13, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home as well as an hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
