Harriett B. Combs, 86, of Taylor Road, formerly of Seymour, died at 4 p.m. Friday, Jan. 31, 2003, at Four Seasons Health Care Center in Columbus.

A graduate of Shields High School and Seymour Business College, she attended Western College for Women at Oxford, Ohio, and Ball State University in Muncie. She worked 50 years as a secretary at Cummins Engine Co. before retiring in 1981. She was a member of Central Christian Church in Seymour.

Private entombment will be Monday at Garland Brook Mausoleum, with the Rev. Eldon L. Brandt officiating. At the request of Mrs. Combs there will be no calling hours or service.

Arrangements were made by Myers Funeral Service, Hathaway–Myers Chapel on Pearl Street.

Born May 31, 1916, in Seymour, Mrs. Combs was the daughter of Harry R. and Jessie Hall Bobb. She married James F. Combs on Nov. 19, 1954, in Seymour.

She is survived by a stepdaughter, Barbara K. Combs, of Hollywood, Fla.; a sister, Jessie Ruth Lewis, of Seymour.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband on July 16, 1987.
