George Starr Valentine, 88, retired jeweler, died Monday, March 9, 1970, at a nursing home in Rocky Mount, N.C. after a long illness. He was a native of Richmond, Va., and son of the late George H. and Nellie Welsh Valentine, born July 16, 1881. He is survived by two sons, George C. Valentine of Richmond, Va., and Frank B. Valentine of Lynchburg, Va.; one grandson, George A. Valentine, Sr. of Rocky Mount, N.C., one granddaughter, Mrs. Gloria V. Barbee of Greensboro and seven great grandchildren.
