Luverne A. Blaufuss, 78, Grand Forks, ND, formerly of Hatton, ND, died Monday, May 28, 2007 in Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, ND.

Luverne Anthony Blaufuss was born August 31, 1928, the son of William F. and Mary (Von Ruden) Blaufuss in Hatton, ND where he was raised and attended Union 54 rural school. He married Josephine O. "Josie" on November 19, 1960 at St. Jude's Catholic Church, Thompson, ND.

He was a lifelong farmer in the Reynolds area retiring in the early 1980's. Josie preceded him in death on April 4, 2000.

He was a lifelong member of the St. Michael's Knights of Columbus Council 1260, Grand Forks, ND; and the Fraternal Order Of Eagles, Dacotah Aerie No. 350, East Grand Forks, MN.

Luverne is survived by a brother, Charles, Wenatchee, WA and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Josie; sister, Ethel Breidenbach; brothers, Cecil, Eugene and Francis.

Mass of Christian Burial: 10:30 am Thursday, May 31, 2007 in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Reynolds, ND.

Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, with a 7:00 p.m. vigil service at Norman Funeral Home, Grand Forks and one hour before the Mass in the church on Thursday at Reynolds.

Burial: Calvary Cemetery, Reynolds, ND.
