He graduated from Mastbaum Vocational Tech School in Pennsylvania.
Burch worked as a tool and die maker for General Motors, Parma, until his retirement in 1991.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1079 of Elyria, the Viking Club, Korean War Veteran Association, AMVETS, United Auto Workers Local 1005, Romanian Club, St. Lad's Club and the Slovenian Club. He enjoyed travel, golf, bowling, his garden and his family.
Survivors include his wife, Martha (nee Dennis); son, Michael Burch of Elyria; daughter, Marsha Burch Dean of Penfield; sister, Eva Tobin of Doylestown, Pa; and 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grand- children. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Kathryn (nee Burdziak) Burch; sons Joseph Burch and Shawn Priestas; brothers Andrew, Stephen, Peter and Samuel, and Michael in infancy; and sisters Alice Griss, Anne Frick, Helen Rutherford and Catherine Stott.
Friends may call Wednesday, noon to 2 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., at Wyers Funeral Chapel, 2900 North Ridge Road, Sheffield Township. Prayers there Thursday at 10:30 a.m. will be followed at 11 a.m. by Mass in St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 41295 North Ridge Road, Elyria Township, with the Rev. James R. Ols officiating. Burial with military honors by VFW Post 1079 will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain
