Pennington Gap, VA Clarence Zion (Ham) King, age 89 of the Hickory Flats community passed away on Sunday, August 1, 2010. He was born and reared in Lee County, son of the late William Leonard King and Fannie Hazel Brown. He lived in Dayton and Xenia, Ohio for over 30 years and returned to Lee County in 1982. He was a retired carpenter and farmer. He was a member of the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Woodway.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Athelene Vaughn King, Grandson, Adam Skye King, brothers, Laurence King, Roy King, and Ray King. Sisters, Cora Middleton, Estelle McElory, and infant sister, Dellie.
Survivors include; Two daughters, Barbara Lochner, Ashville, NC, Elizabeth King-Jones and husband Woodroe of West Alexandria, OH, One son L. Wayne King and wife Sheila of St. Augustine, FL. Two grandsons, Colin Lockner, and wife Ruby, Scott King Erickson and wife Julia , Angela Brewster Reed and husband Mark, Jennifer Brewster Jones and husband Jeffery. Four great grandchildren, Sara Stinson and husband Matt, Jared Reed, Evan Reed, and Elizabeth Wilcox.
Family will recieve friends from 5 until 8:00 p. m. Thursday, August 5, at Sturgill Funeral Home in Pennington Gap. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a. m.
