City Worker Conrad is Dead at 58

Alvin Charles Conrad, 58 of 1219 W 18th Street, Superintendent of the Lorain City Sanitation Dept, died Tuesday at 9:15 pm in St. Joseph Hospital after a three month illness.

A native of Lorain, Mr. Conrad was a popular city employee. He had been a city worker for the past 28 years. He attended Lorain Schools, was a member of St, Mary Church, Holy Name Society of the church, Lorain Eagles and Moose lodges.

Survivors include his widow Christine; 3 children, three sisters, Mrs. Irene Bremer, Mrs. Joseph Beckler, and Mrs. Frank Foley, all of Lorain and five grandchildren. Friends may call at the Dombrowski Funeral Home 1939 Oberlin Ave after 5 pm Thursday. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 9:30 am at the funeral home followed by a Solemn Requiem High Mass at 10 am in St. Mary Church Msgr James J Duffy pastor will officiate."
