Lenial Matthews, 88, Rossville Lenial B. Matthews of Rossville died Friday, Aug. 24, 2007 at a local hospital. He was 88. A lifelong resident of Rossville, he was a longtime member and deacon of First Baptist Church of Fort Oglethorpe and the Rossville Masonic Lodge No. 397 F&AM. He retired from American Lava/3M Co. with more than 25 years of service, and during his spare time, he loved camping and fishing. He was preceded in death by his wife, Reba Matthews; son, L. Dennis Matthews; brothers, Doyle, Belmont, Winfred and Cadwell Matthews. Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Mike Bloomer of Rossville; son and daughter-in-law, David and Lynda Matthews of Chickamauga; daughter-in-law, Janice Matthews of Chickamauga; eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Services: Monday, Aug. 27, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home chapel with Dr. John Wyatt officiating. Burial: Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park.
