O. B. Reed Dies in De Leon
O.B. Reed, 64, died Aug. 21 at his home in De Leon after a long illness. He was the brother-n-law of Mrs. Fred Smith, Mrs. Sterling J. Edwards and Mrs. Arthur Mueller of Gatesville.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Aug. 23 at the Northside Baptist Church in De Leon with Rev. Elmer Whitehead officiating.
Burial was in the Downing Cemetery. Mr. Reed was born Oct. 26, 1913 in Comanche County and lived in De Leon most of his life. H was a retired contractor-carpenter. He and Miss Lillian Smith of Gatesville were married Sept. 11, 1937 in Comanche County. Mrs. Reed is the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank Smith of Gatesville.
Mr. Reed was a member of the Northside Baptist Church of De Leon.
Suvivors include his wife; two sons, John F. Reed of Pearland and Billy C. Reed of Victoria; one daughter, :Mrs. C.A. (Pat) Brinson of Seguin; three sisters, Mrs. Bill (Lillie) Dendy of De Leon, Mrs. Ann Atterbury of Dallas and Mrs. Sallie Watts of Blackwell; and eight grandchildren.
