Funeral Services Held Sunday for W. D. Hall, Age 65
W.D. Hall, age 65, prominent Sandersville citizen, died at his home on South Smith Street, Friday, December 6, after an extended illness.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, Dec 1, in the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Jordan W. Holland, Pastor of the church, officiating. He was assisted by the Rev. E.G Grahood, pastor emeritus of the Sandersville Christian Church.
Mr. Hall was born February 24, 1892, in Washington County, the son of the late James Quinton Hall and the late Mrs. Emma Chambers Hall, both from prominent families of Washington County.
A lifelong citizen of Washington County, Mr. Hall was a member of the first Baptist Church, Sandersville. He was employed for many years by Shelnutt and Smith in Sandersville. In more recent years he was an employee of Irwin & Co., with farming occupying part of his time.
Mr. Hall served tow terms as commissioner on the Washington County Board of Roads and Revenues and filled an unexpired term of his father, the late Quinton Hall.
He was married to the former Miss Eva Sheppard, who survives him. Other Survivors include three daughter, Mrs. Lloyd Curry, Oconne; Mrs. Vernon Hitt, Live Oak Fla.; and Mrs. Harris Cason, Charleston, S. C.; two sons, J. Warren
Hall, Sandersville, and Edward Hall, Gainesville; one brother, Julian Hall, Sandersville and nine grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
Pall bearers were Lewis West, Therrell Murphy, Roy Hardee, W.E. Newsome, J. D. Garner and B.L Helton, Jr.
Interment was in Brownwood cemetery.
