Allan Cameron Findlay, 86, of Cornelius, died Monday, March 1, 2004 at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center. Born Sept. 11, 1917 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada to the late Jonathan and Florence Findlay, he was a graduate of McGill University in Montreal with a degree in mechanical engineering. Mr. Findlay served during World War II as a pilot officer in the Royal Canadian Air Force. He moved to Charlotte where he was employed by Celanese Corporation, and was later employed at Reeves Brothers in Cornelius where he retired as plant engineer. Mr. Findlay was married to his first wife Enid Findlay, who preceded him in death in 1989. He married his second wife, Olive How Findlay, who survives. Other survivors include sons, Dr. William A. Findlay of Grand Junction, Colo. and Dr. John F. Findlay of Webster, N.Y.; daughters, Dawn F. Hollar of Cornelius and Dale F. Langerman of Greensboro; 12 grandchildren and one great grandchild. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 6 at Bethel Presbyterian Church, where he was a member.
