Willis took his family from KY to IN to MO, then Kelly Twp, Warren Co., IL. I could not find a BLM Land Patent for him but he must have rec'd one in Warren Co., IL prior to the 1850 Federal Census was taken.
Lucy met and wed Simeon Grant Heflin on 7 Dec 1865, prob. in her home, in Kelley Twp, Warren Co., IL. He had enlisted in the Civil War about then.
They were in the Harlan City Area before the 1870 Federal Census was taken. Simeon had just applied for a C.W. Pension as he was wounded in the C.W.
They first lived in Jackson Twp and later in Center Twp, just a short distance from Harlan City. They had 5 children: Vinnie, Orville, Alta, Daisy & Luke.
Simeon d. in 1910 and Lucy applied for a C.W. Widow's Pension on 2 May 1910.
Lucy remained in the Harlan City vic. the remainder of her life.
She was interred near her husband, Simeon, in the HARLAN CEMETERY.
