Martha Emaline Duncan was born October 4th, 1850 in Blount county TN. She came with per parents to Iowa in 1851 and located with them in Wayne county in 1868. At an early age she untied with the United Presbyterian church in Corydon. She belonged to a family of ten children four of whom survive her, Mrs. Janet Shaw, Mrs. Ann Edmunsen, and Mr. J. C. Duncan of Allerton and Geo Duncan of Alliance, NE. She was married to Mr. Joseph E Abel on March 18, 1874. Died at her late home in Allerton on Jan 26th 1909.
