Buried next to his wife Philomena Wessel Babbit and other Babbit family members. George was the third child of David W. Babbitt and Catherine M. Spellmire. He died suddenly of a heart attack in the Coconino County Courthouse. According to many reports, he was a generous and humanitarian indivdual. He came West with his brothers, established family businesses, and invested in Arizona mining operations. He and Philomena had five children: Bertrand, Herbert, Margaret, George J., and Mary Eunice.
