During a Bureau of Indian Affairs Probate Hearing concerning the estate of Amanda Fannie Reynolds Bimway Williams (Mrs. Olaf Williams), on October 10, 1955, Herman Leonard, age 26, was appointed legal guardian of his brother, Martin Frederick, age 40. Martin lived at the State Hospital, Fergus Falls, MN at that time (1955). Herman's sworn testimony about his mother, Amanda Williams, and her marriage and children, was agreed to by his sister, Marie Olena Williams Straw, also present and under oath.
