Bobbie Thurman Stevens, Sr.,
age 79, of Wyoming Way, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, December 30, 2010, at the V. A. Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky.

Born November 20, 1931, in Rowan County, Kentucky, Bobbie was the son of the late Tom and Nora Sparkman Stevens. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Margie Byerley, who passed away February 28, 2002.

He is survived by the mother of his children, Dorothy Wilson Stevens of Morehead, Kentucky; three sons and daughters-in-law, Billy and Rhonda Wilson, Bobbie Jr. And Carmen Stevens, and Donald and Hazel Stevens, all of Morehead, Kentucky; three daughters and sons-in-law, Roberta and Kevin Barnsdale of Lehigh Acres, Florida, Anita and Robert Hutchinson of Morehead, Kentucky, and Victoria and Vaughn France of Olive Hill, Kentucky; 12 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren.

Other survivors include three brothers, Junior Stevens, Gary Stevens, and Murvil Stevens, all of Morehead, Kentucky; four sisters, Juanita Moore, Lillie Mae Hamm, and Deloris Stevens, all of Morehead, Kentucky, and Shelby Jean Edwards of Jasper, Alabama; and many nieces and nephews.

Bobbie served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1951-1954. He was a self-employed truck driver and a former truck driver for J. C. Wells Lumber Company. He was a loving and devoted father and a caring person to all who knew him.

Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, January 2, 2011, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Brother Ray Glover officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens with full military honors by Morehead American Legion Post No. 126.

Pallbearers will be Bobbie Stevens, Donald Stevens, Robert Hutchinson, Daniel Stevens, Donald Rose.

Visitation is after 5 p.m. Saturday, January 1, 2011, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals.
