CAROLINE CROFOT DAWLEY
Almost a Centenarian
The remains of Mrs. Caroline Dawley, who passed away in Antigo Wis., on Sunday last at the extreme age of 98 years, were brought to Mishawaka for interment on Tuesday, the burial taking place on Wednesday.
Three daughters, Miss Walter Dawley, Mrs. Ella Kendall and Mrs. Ida Sherman, accompanied the body to this city. The deceased was the widow of William Dawley, a former well known citizen, for many years engaged in the milling business here. The family moved to Wisconsin some 30 years ago.

DEATH OF MRS W DAWLEY
Mrs. Caroline Wealthy Crofoot Dawley passed away yesterday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W. H. Dawley, 432 Clermont Street. She was 89 years and has been an invalid for the last two years. Caroline was born at Painesville, Ohio, in 1821; she was a graduate from Kirkland Seminary, which is located a few miles from Cleveland, Ohio. On March 30, 1854 she became the bride of William, Dawley. Immediately after their marriage they moved to Mishawaka, Ind., where their children were born. In 1883 Mr. Dawley died and since that time she has made her home with her daughter in this city. Up to a few years ago she was very active but since then her health has failed rapidly. Saturday afternoon her daughters realized the end was near and remained at the bedside until the end which came very peacefully, a fitting close for a serene and beautiful life.
She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. W.H. Dawley, Mrs. S. B. Kendall and Mrs. A. B. Hanks.
Services are to be held at the home of W.H. Dawley, this afternoon, at 3 o’clock. The body of Mrs. Dawley will be taken to Mishawaka tonight, her former home. It will rest in state at the Methodist church. The burial will be in the family plot at Mishawaka cemetery. Those from here who will accompany the body to Mishawaka include Mr. and Mrs. W.H. Dawley; Mr. and Mrs. S. B. Kendall and Mrs. A. B. Hanks.
