He was united in marriage February 14, 1920, to Ellen Brown. To this union were born two children, Mrs. Pauline Bandy of West Terre Haute, and Dean of Marshall.
Besides the companion and two children, hea leaves a daughter-in-law, Winifred; a granddaughter and two great-grandchildren, besides several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends to mourn his sad departure.
Preceding him in death were his parents, brothers and sisters.
He spent a greater part of his life farming. He was a loving husband and father, always willing to lend a helping hand to all his neighbors and friends. Truly our heartfelt sorrow and loww but our Heavenly Father loveth and He careth.
Sadness comes and leaves its sting. Shadows fall upon our way. Many disappointments bring sorrow at the close of the day. Earthly trials are hard to bear. But be happy this is true. Friends about us really care. And God will always see us through.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon at 2 p.m. on February 28 at the Moore Funeral Home with Rev. Glenn Arbuckle officiating. Burial was in Marshall Cemetery.
His nephews served as pallbearers: Lawrence Hutchens, Harlan Hutchens, Donald Hutchens, Dale Brown, Edgar Morris, Stanley Davis.
